Job Overview

This growing company is expanding and preparing to open a new location in Washington, DC. They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented General Manager to oversee operations at a high-volume restaurant and bakery.

This role requires a dynamic leader who excels in front-of-house operations while driving financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, expertise in payroll and inventory management, and proficiency with POS systems (Toast preferred).


Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring seamless execution across the restaurant and bakery
  • Lead and develop the front-of-house team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
  • Conduct ongoing training focused on hospitality excellence and guest experience
  • Analyze labor costs and optimize scheduling to align with business needs and budget
  • Manage payroll reconciliation, including hours, tips, and PTO accuracy
  • Perform labor analysis and reporting to drive operational efficiency
  • Oversee beverage inventory and ordering in compliance with all regulations
  • Utilize POS systems to manage menu updates, reporting, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure accurate tracking of sales, labor, and inventory
  • Train team members on POS functionality to maximize efficiency
  • Lead by example, promoting accountability, professionalism, and team engagement
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Resolve employee and guest concerns with professionalism and urgency
  • Maintain consistent quality of product and service
  • Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements
  • Uphold cleanliness, safety, and health standards at all times


Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in a restaurant, bakery, or hospitality environment
  • Strong interpersonal and team development skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with POS systems and basic computer tools
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
